RIT CRITERIA

What is the RIT Programme?

The RIT program prepares older campers for future leadership. They learn communication, teamwork, and responsibility while assisting the Role Models with younger groups. While RIT’s enjoy all the normal aspects of camp, they also contribute to leading, problem solving, and supporting daily camp life, building confidence, skills, and readiness to become a full camp role Model.

Want to become a Role Model In Training?

Applicants should demonstrate…

  • Must be aged 17-19 by this August ‘2026

  • A positive, reliable, and respectful attitude

  • Genuine interest in supporting younger campers

  • Openness to learning, feedback, and reflection

  • Emotional maturity and self-awareness

  • Ability to represent the camp as a positive role model

PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE YOU APPLY

How to Apply – RIT (Role-in-Training) Programme

To apply for our RIT Programme, we ask applicants to submit a short video self-tape. This helps us get a sense of who you are, how you communicate, and why you’re interested in developing as a future leader at camp.

Video Submission Guidelines

  • Length: 2–4 minutes total

  • Format: One continuous video (phone or laptop is fine)

  • Setting: Quiet space with clear sound and good lighting

  • Style: Be yourself — we’re not looking for perfection, just honesty and clarity

Please introduce yourself at the start of the video (your name, age, and a little about your camp or performance background if relevant).

Video Questions

Please answer the following questions in your self-tape:

  1. Why do you want to be an RIT?

  2. Why do you think you would make a good RIT?

  3. Tell us about a time you supported or helped someone younger than you.

  4. How do you feel you respond to feedback or correction?

(There are no “right” answers — we’re interested in your thought process, awareness, and attitude.)

What We’re Looking For

We’re not expecting you to know everything already. We’re looking for:

  • Enthusiasm and commitment

  • Kindness, maturity, and responsibility

  • Willingness to learn and grow

  • Genuine interest in supporting younger campers
